Workhuman
The future of work.
At Workhuman, I make the case for a more human approach to work, one that consists of crazy ideas like thanking people for the work they do and creating a psychologically safe workplace so employees feel like they can be themselves when they’re at work. It turns out when those ideas are put into practice, they’re not just nice-to-haves, they’re good business.
It’s my job to lift up the multimedia arm of the Workhuman Content team through podcast and video, bolster the writing staff of the Workhuman blog, and contribute copywriting and ghostwriting. Here is some of that work.
The Evolution of Work
A survey of 4,000+ people in the US, UK, Ireland, and Canada, this report highlights the immense changes to the workplace in the wake of COVID. It’s both a look at how work compares to pre-COVID and an analysis of how changes like hybrid work and pledges to make work more equitable for all have affected the employee experience.

Psychological Safety
Entering the workplace lexicon during the pandemic, “psychological safety” is the belief that you can bring your whole self to work.
The Workhuman IQ team conducted a survey of employees in the US, Canada, and the UK to determine the state of psychological safety and to bring that report to life, I helped produce an interview with Dr. Meisha-ann Martin, one of the data scientists behind the report, to provide more nuance and real-life examples.

The Great Resignation
With another Workhuman IQ survey imminent and the video team tied up, I decided to elevate the new report with a podcast interview featuring Dr. Meisha-ann Martin. Similar to the video feature, this episode helped listeners further understand the factors behind one of the most transitory periods in the history of the American workforce.

Writing
Has diversity in the workplace worked?
Throughout 2020, as the Movement for Black Lives took to streets around the world to protest racial injustice, companies pledged meaningful change. But looking back a year later, did change actually happen? Writing with Dr. Meisha-ann Martin, we explored the progress made and the uphill battle that remains in building more diverse, more equitable, more inclusive workplaces.
Back to Basics: Performance Management
One of a handful of entries I made to Workhuman’s Back to Basics series, this piece looks at the manager-employee relationship and the growth, collaboration, and development that can stem from a consistent, coaching approach that is only beginning to gain steam in the workplace.
